Woven Health Clinic has both a membership-based primary care clinic and a 501c3 charitable clinic that provides free and low cost health care services for people who live in Dallas, Carrollton, Coppell, Addison, and Farmers Branch to those that cannot afford it.

The Clinic is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home.

Our History

The Clinic was founded in 1992 and incorporated in 1993 as On Eagles Wings by two local churches, Webb Chapel United Methodist Church and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, who saw an urgent need for healthcare for the underprivileged in the community. At the outset, the Clinic was open one night a week and some weekends with an all-volunteer medical staff. In 1995, Metrocrest Hospital Authority helped secure a rent-free location at Dallas Medical Center for the Clinic.

In 2003, the Clinic joined Dallas County Medical Society Project Access. Project Access funding allowed the Clinic to hire some paid staff, including a nurse, family practice physician, and medical assistants. The Clinic changed its name to Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic and added volunteer specialists in Dermatology, Gynecology, and Neurology.

In 2011, the Clinic expanded funding to include the Cities of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell and additional resources from HCA. The Clinic expanded its hours to become a full-time operation, Monday through Friday, with a full-time internal medicine physician. The name was changed to Metrocrest Community Clinic and its focus became primary care.

In 2016, the Clinic received new grant funding from Metrocrest Hospital Authority, Dallas Women’s Foundation, and the American Heart Association. The Clinic focused its resources on Chronic Disease Management, Disease Prevention, and Women’s Health. The Clinic added a nutritionist and a behavioral specialist, and formalized a partnership with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for Behavioral and Mental Health.

In 2017, the Clinic focuses on Chronic Disease Management, Disease Prevention, Women’s Health, and becoming a Patient-Centered Medical Home. The Clinic added a part-time Nurse Practitioner for Primary Care and Gynecologist. The Clinic is weaving together comprehensive, prevention-focused healthcare, both physical and mental, to treat the entire person. The Clinic has changed its name to Woven Health Clinic out of a belief that the healthcare services it provides are woven inextricably into the fabric of the communities it serves.

In 2022, we added a membership-based primary care clinic offering where small businesses and individuals can get the best preventative care and ongoing health care in the Dallas, Farmers Branch, Coppell, Carrollton and Addison area.
